In a report conducted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced that due to inflation and instability in the price of oil and food, growth in Asia will reach 7.6% during 2008, a slight fall from 9% achieved a year ago.
Within the report, the organization said that inflation in the region will reach 6.3% annually, doubling the average over the last ten years, where growth has been very important continent, aided by China.
As is happening throughout the world, inflation continues to grow in all countries of the region. The problem is that in this region more than half of the expenses of an average family goes for gasoline and food.
Jong-Wha Lee, an economist of ADB, said that the increase in inflation is a threat very important for sustained growth that has taken the region in recent years, affecting the importation of food and gasoline, basic elements for any country.
